Conférence à l’Université Saint-Paul d’Ottawa, le 27 mars 2014 Le Centre Lonergan de l’Université Saint-Paul d’Ottawa tiendra sa conférence Lonergan annuelle le 27 mars 2014. Cette conférence se tient alternativement en anglais et en français. Cette année, elle sera en français. Les conférenciers seront : Gaston Raymond, o.p., Brian McDonough et Louis Roy, o.p.. Pierrot Lambert sera le modérateur. Le thème de la conférence est le suivant : « Homogénéité culturelle et conscience historique : comment échapper au relativisme »? La culture classiciste, longtemps porteuse des expressions de la foi religieuse, a cédé le pas à une culture plurielle, évolutive, offrant une « réinterprétation de l’homme dans son univers ». Comment se dégager aussi bien du classicisme que du relativisme, afin de s’attaquer lucidement aux questions d’aujourd’hui ? Une conférence internationale à Rome L’Université Grégorienne accueillait, du 27 au 30 novembre, une conférence consacrée à « l’anthropologie de Bernard Lonergan ». Patrick Byrne a également prononcé pour le séminaire d’octobre à l’intention des étudiants de deuxième cycle du Lonergan Research Institute une allocution portant le titre The Ethics of Discernment (l’éthique du discernement).
