DESCRIPTION:On July 23 upcoming at 1 pm at our Lonergan Institute\, let us begin a new seminar\, reading through Part Two of Bernard Lonergan’s The Redemption which is found in volume 9 of the Collected Works of Bernard Lonergan.  Please read the first ten pages\, from p. 265 to p. 275.  Latin is on the left side; English on the right.  We meet to determine how often we will meet; at each meeting\, in fact\, we will determine the date of the next meeting in order to make adjustments as we proceed\, fitting in with the schedules of all participants.  This Part Two is relatively unknown and in its own way comprises a second book.  We will attempt to establish appropriate Zoom connections.  For information\, please feel free to email me\, Br. DESCRIPTION:On the evening of Feb. 8\, 2020\, in the Fort Augustus Room at St. Anselm’s Abbey\, Washington DC\, Dr. David C. Schindler of the John Paul II Institute\, located at Catholic University\, will give a public lecture on the question of gender and how this relates to the teaching of Pope Paul VI on the wrongfulness of contraception.  The lecture will\, in fact\, begin at 7:45 pm after the monastic office of Compline.  Dr. David Fleischacker will come from North Dakota to chair and lead this event; Roland Krismer will come from Austria to function as an interlocutor.  A reception will immediately follow.  All interested persons are welcome to attend.
